Transcend Level 6 Diploma in the Army Officer Selection Board Assessment of Potential and Peer Mentoring is an Ofqual regulated vocational qualification that sits in sector subject area 1.4 Public services. It is designed to be completed in the context of a specialist pathway that represents the learner’s role on the Army Officer selection Board [AOSB].

The AOSB mandate is to assess the potential of civilians to undertake the training required to become Army Officers. The AOSB is made up of Army Officers across the ranks to fulfil a specialist role.

Each AOSB role has specific responsibilities to ensure valid assessment of civilian potential. Over time each AOSB member is also required to become a mentor peer in their specialist roles.

The Education Advisor pathway is relevant to Lieutenant Colonels, Majors and Civilian Contractors that are recruited onto the AOSB to fulfil this role. Education Advisors EAs are non-scoring members of the board. They advise Vice Presidents on candidate’s Intellectual Potential (IP). They also provide information on each candidate overall intellectual performance and potential for training. They deputise for the Vice president during group activities.

This qualification pathway is developed with CDS Defence & Security [CDS] as the technical collaborator on behalf of the AOSB.  CDS is an industry leading provider of education for military professionals. It was validated through consultation the AOSB as the military body and employer.

This qualification pathway is delivered by CDS Defence & Security [CDS] as the specialist education provider to the AOSB. It is exclusive to AOSB members for validity purposes66
